Today people across the continent are celebrating Africa Day. Denel has deep roots on the African continent and we have elevated the African market to be a primary focus area for our business.

Denel Mechems active involvement in Explosive Remnants of War clearance across the continent and the role of the SANDF in peace-keeping operations on the continent are well documented and Denel is exceptionally proud of the role played by our people, products and systems to make these missions successful.

The theme of this years Africa Day commemorations, Opening Doors of Learning and Culture from Cape to Cairo, has a special resonance for Denel as we currently have students from Cameroon at the Denel Technical Academy. Let us reflect on the contribution made by our fellow African states towards South Africas democracy.

We call upon everyone to again remember that any attack on a fellow African coming from outside of our borders does not happen in our name. South Africa belongs to all who live in it, united in our diversity.
